Beautiful Things

A beautifully made piece deserves to be cared for just as thoughtfully as it was chosen. With the right habits, your Gracie garments will look and feel exceptional — season after season.

Silk

Delicate  ·  Lustrous

Hand-wash in cool water with a gentle, sulfate-free detergent. Never wring — press between clean towels and air-dry on a padded hanger away from sunlight. Use a garment steamer rather than a hot iron; if you must iron, use a pressing cloth on the lowest setting.

Linen

Breathable  ·  Structured

Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle or hand-wash. Reshape while damp and lay flat or hang to dry. Iron on medium heat while slightly damp for a crisp finish — or embrace the relaxed texture. Linen only gets better with wear.

Cashmere & Wool

Precious  ·  Cozy

Hand-wash in cold water with a wool-safe detergent — never hot water. Support the full weight of the piece when wet. Lay flat on a clean towel to dry; hanging stretches the fibers permanently. Remove pills with a fabric comb, not a razor.

Satin & Crepe

Formal  ·  Fluid

Dry clean recommended for structured satin pieces. For lighter crepe, hand-wash gently and roll in a towel — never twist. Iron only on the reverse side at the lowest heat setting. Store in a breathable cotton garment bag to avoid snags.

✓ Always

  • ✓  Check the care label before washing
  • ✓  Air pieces out after wearing before storing
  • ✓  Use a steamer as your first choice for wrinkles
  • ✓  Store in breathable cotton or muslin bags
  • ✓  Treat stains right away — blot, don’t rub

✗ Never

  • ✗  Put luxury fabrics in the dryer
  • ✗  Hang knits — they lose their shape
  • ✗  Use bleach or fabric softener on delicates
  • ✗  Iron silk or satin directly
  • ✗  Store in plastic bags — they trap moisture

Hanging pieces

Use wide, padded or wood hangers to keep shoulder shape. Leave space between garments so fabrics can breathe.

Folded knitwear

Fold along seams and stack loosely. Add cedar blocks — skip mothballs, which can discolor fibers.

Light & heat

Keep garments away from direct sunlight and heating vents. Both fade color and break down fibers over time.

The pieces you care for are the ones you reach for most — the ones that become truly yours. A little attention goes a long way toward keeping your Gracie pieces looking their absolute best. If you ever have a question about a specific garment, our team is always happy to help.
